The event featured a sumptuous dinner from Chef Michael Wood, a performance by choreographer/dancer, Molissa Fenley, and a variety of uplifting presentations to celebrate Ms. Alexander. American Dance & Music hosted a fundraising event to acknowledge and celebrate the life’s work of Albert Reid. The event acknowledged his contributions to the Santa Barbara dance community as well as his extensive career as choreographer, teacher, and dancer. The event looks back on his life in modern dance, including Albert’s tenure with the world renowned Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Albert was featured in the Company’s first 6-month world tour in 1964, which set the stage for Cunningham’s career as a seminal international modern dance choreographer and dancer. 2019 is Cunningham’s centennial year. When AD&M’s Dance Hub opens its doors, Santa Barbara will enjoy a beautiful and professional space for instructors and their students, companies like DramaDogs, Sadeekhat, World Dance For Humanity, and other dance and theater groups in our community currently in need of adequate space. At The Dance Hub, they will be able teach, create, rehearse and perform, and further invigorate and enrich our community for the benefit of all. Chinese New Year Dinner at Ming Dynasty

American Dance & Music (AD&M) will kick-off their second decade with an intimate fundraising event on Friday, February 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ming Dynasty Restaurant, 290 Storke Road, Goleta (in Storke Plaza). The evening will feature a 10-course dinner for Chinese New Year overseen by seventh-generation Chef and Owner, John Ho and his wife, Jenny Ho. Upon arrival, guests will be served General Manager, Steve Nogavich’s signature Mai Tai followed by a sit-down dinner with wines generously provided by Zaca Mesa Winery, including 2014 Viognier, 2012 Z Blanc, 2012 Z Cuvee, and 2011 Syrah.
